In second grade our homework will focus on making reading a part of our daily lives. Your child may also bring home class assignments to finish at home if he/she did not finish them in class. If you would like additional homework activities please access one of the electronic resources you have been given access to this year. Also watch for occasional optional enrichment activities that will be sent home in your child's Daily Folder and remember to check out the activities on the Challenge Activities tab!
READING: Make reading a part of your daily/nightly routine! Make it a goal to read together for 20 minutes or more a night at least five nights a week. This can be done independently or with an adult. Be sure to fill our your monthly reading calendar and return it on the first school day of the new month for a classroom reward coupon!
MATH: There will be one math sheet a week assigned to each student. They will receive the Math homework sheet on Monday and it will be due the following Monday. Let me know if there is any issues that come up with completing the math homework sheet. I do not want it to be a struggle each week, just something for them to practice our daily math skills. Please practice math fluency facts as well (like 3 + 4, 9 + 8)!
